WINTER WONDERS: SOME INSPIRATION

It's the most wonderful time... It's that time again, when the world really gets HOLIDAYED. And I am no stranger to that. I celebrate Chrismakuh, a combination of the two holidays and this year they coincide which has my blood bubbling with excitement over all the festivities. Aside from just the celebrations, I am looking forward to so much more, hot chocolate, cashmere sweaters and twinkle lights, to name a few. As much as I hate the early sunset, I must say the lights in trees get me every time! So to celebrate the season (even though we don't really have them in LA unfortunately) I compiled all my favorite images from Pinterest to inspire some winter magic. Enjoy!

GIFT GUIDE: MONOGRAMMED

{ 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 }

Let's get personal... I love monograms for many reasons, but most importantly, because it turns something ordinary into something special. Nothing says, "I really care about you" like an item that takes extra time and consideration to procure and because the season of gift giving is fast approaching, I've compiled a list of all the best finds online, just in the Nick of time. Some of my monogrammed favorites I currently own and are not pictured: the absolute best terry cloth bathrobe, a banana leaf iPhone case (that reminds me of the Beverly Hills Hotel) and a navy leather card holder. Also, the white blazer with piping (#5 in the last set below) is made of terry cloth to be used as a bathing suit cover up, how chic is that?!!!!! Enjoy!

VELVET DREAMS

Velvet is actually my favorite fabric. Especially blue velvet. I'll never forget my mother had a custom two piece ensemble made for her 50th birthday party involving some kind of corset top and an A-line, knee length skirt that I loved  trying on and twirling around in. My father also had a set of blue velvet, tufted sofas and chairs that I am still inspired by today and plan to re-create in my living room (more to come on this soon). I also have always loved the actual song by Bobby Vinton, Blue Velvet, since I was a kid playing around with old records. It's really one of those fabrics that will continue to transcend over time as it as comfortable as it is luxurious. I've always had a few items here and there to add a little something extra to an outfit, but I'm starting to think I should stock up now that velvet's become so trendy lately so I have lots to choose from. Here are all the best items I've found that won't break the bank. Enjoy!
