An overdose of girlie would be an understatement this season! Pastels are huge and I happen to be a fan!

I love anything and everything girlie, really everything in small doses, just make sure not to take these looks too seriously, unless cupcake is your middle name (like my friend Sonia) otherwise try and mix in some lace and silk pieces in mint, blush, and seafoam....Enjoy!
{vera wang} {diane von furstenberg} {veronique leroy} {christopher kane} {chanel}
This is the color of my bedding and it's quite glamorous and summery...I have a sheer seafoam cocktail dress waiting to be worn on a hanger, I must get to it! Metallics and white go well with these pieces, yet to tone it down for work (or in some respects, real life) wear it with navy or blueish-greens...

Mixology 101
{mixology at planet dallies}
This week I went to an after party here at a new young and fun venue rightly titled Mixology 101, the newly added cocktail bar to the popular restaurant Planet Dallies, conveniently located in The Grove Shopping Center, right across from my go to chain ZARA...

Despite it's commercial location, this trendy bar located on top of a Bath and Body Works Shop appears more then just a chain pitstop for shoppers in need of a pick me up. It seems to be a trend now, drinking upscale in LA shopping centers, perhaps now my evening wear and nightlife are in the same place!
Mixology 101 Hollywood Bubbles
{salvatore calabrese}
The brains behind Mixology 101, Salvatore Calabrese, made this drink "Hollywood Bubbles" for those like me who love a little champagne, especially one garnished with strawberries!

A fresh, modern, and simple decor scheme, the space is perfect for private parties or small groups of friends, perhaps now I will consider shopping at the grove, even if just for a fizzy cocktail at happy hour (and of course some time well spent as ZARA)!

Here's to shopping with a little buzz,

Loving this trend, black leather leggings/skinny pants have been a huge and very accessible trend for a while now, one I really love too! Mine are from Arden B. and only cost $30! I also have some black coated skinny pants I love too from Nordstrom that got discontinued, but I love them nonetheless!

More recently they have been coming out with more and more colors, with leathery looking fabrics, some matte and even some shimmery/metallic ones as well. So far J Brand has taken the lead, with a few variations of the trend in ZARA and Topshop...
{fergie} {street style} {january jones}
Neutrals are practical! Definitely the safest route, next to black, I really like the darker version on January Jones (above, right), I can't tell if they are almost grey or espresso, either way I love them!

No trend would complete without some color! I am hoping to find some more pastels versions for spring!

It's all about texture,

Back to blogging! On trend now are box clutches! I love how structured and chic these small purses look with evening wear, I have one from three years ago I purchased for only $9 and still love to this day, definitely a trend-worthy investment!

The shape is easy, focus on the fabric, pattern, and texture; enjoy!

Animal prints like crocodile and snakeskin are always relevant for handbags; I am only a fan of the look in small doses, my black one is faux crocodile, adds a little glamour to a simple accessory!
Pops of color are evident for Spring and Summer, this blue Lanvin is amazing (above) the gold rim is incredibly sophisticated and reminds me of those trendy lacquer boxes that are so in vogue for coffee tables, I would love one in black and white, for a clutch, oh and with the word CHANEL across the front, hint hint Chanel!

No evening accessory list would be complete without an overdose of metallic, embellishments, stones, and sparkle! Here goes...

{vintage vogue 1934}
Hello there! Really digging the white fur this month! I still have a white, faux fur vest sitting in my closet, waiting for the right occasion and blouse to come along! This 1934 Vogue cover (above) is amazingly glamorous, I would have totally rocked the fur and tiara trend now if it came back, or perhaps not...

This is why I consider fashion a fantasy, often we are drawn to editorials and runways because they embody what we can't exactly get away with in reality...
{kate moss for paris vogue}
Kate Moss can pull of anything, but I love how simple she looks here, it's sweet and pretty, a role she often doesn't play as a model due to her evident sex appeal...

{vintage bazaar 1944}
Yet another trend in Vogue in 1944 (above) feathers will always come back, but I doubt in this form, at least for a while!

{chloe sevigny for harper's bazaar}
Similar to the Kate Moss cover, Chloe Sevigny looks so innocent and fresh in a frilly white blouse...she is certainly a fashion icon of mine because of all the huge risks she takes, but it is nice to see her so simple, laying down in the grass!

{drew barrymore for harper's bazaar}
Not sure if she is wearing a strapless gown (above) and holding up the tool from underneath, or just covering herself with fabric, but she looks so pretty! Like a model from the 60s, this is my favorite look I have ever seen done on Drew Barrymore, the smokey eyes and nude lip makes her skin glow, beautiful!

Shine bright in white,

M. Gisele

So many shows, only so many posts! Roberto Cavalli really knocked out any possible fall drab, with this amazingly bright, textured and strong Fall 2012 Ready to Wear line....

This look (above) sounds ludicrous and perhaps cheap on paper; a bright, chunky, orange sweater, with cropped red patent leather pants and hints of animal print under fur...but leave it to eccentric european designer Cavalli to make this chic in real life...that and the gorgeous runway model...

I am totally down with all black, especially with diverse textures! Leather, lace and fur, eclectic fabrics work well together when done in the simplest of terms (above, left) and khaki pants ALWAYS need a pattern, love the contrast between the under blouse and long blazer (above, right)...

One of my favorite colors and patterns, green and tweed (above) all under an awesome fur coat...I have seen this soft shimmer fabric in the form of leggings without much fondness, this one certainly gave me a change of heart...

Excited for Summer, ready for Fall,

-M. Gisele

Color creativity at its' best! I love mixing style, fashion, and art because one cannot function without the other, hope you enjoy and love pastels as much as I...

These rooms are amazing, bathrooms are the easiest rooms to decorate in my opinion, because you can get creative and it is most often the smallest space in a home...

I love color, but this blackish/dark navy is wonderfully rich (above)....
{image credit}
This mirror detailing (above) is so pretty, what a simple way to give cabinets a little more glamour...
{image credit}
Or a lot more glamour (above)!
{image credit}
The floral wallpaper (above) is great in bathrooms, this seafaomy blue/green color is soft and girly, and I like the contrast between the design and the black and white bath tile on the floor, all mediated by white paneling in between...the mirrored dresser tops it all off! Love it!
sexy rexy bathrooms

I like how simple this one is (above), even though I would prefer some kind of texture or pattern added to the pale blue color, this room is still open, airy, and clean, perhaps what most people would like from a bathroom...

Glam it up,

M. Gisele

The 2012 fall collections are here and although we are still in another season, some of the looks from Jill Sander's ready to wear show are highly compatible with the femininity of spring...

So romantic and pretty these dresses, jumpsuits, and coats are reminiscent of the 50's and all the glamour that era bring to women's wear...this neutral, color-block, jumpsuit (above) is modern, sweet, and simple and my favorite of the line...

An emphasis on the waist is what makes these looks so irresistible and soft, defining it will make anything feminine...

These coats are so pretty, I really love round necklines on outerwear (above), it's become a classic look, definitely worth the investment over any coat, including pea coats...

Love the pop of color with the mauve pink (above), a risk I'd ideally want to take but most likely never will...

Every fall collection usually involves some or many, all-black looks, and these are wonderfully chic in my opinion, the over sized coat (above) is a a big trend now for fall and this one looks irresistibly comfortable...not sure which shiny material this dress (above) is made of but I do know I like it! It adds some fun to an otherwise simple black dress with a wonderfully sweet(heart) neckline...

I would like to be Audrey Hepburn please,

-M. Gisele
